We leave Jondaryan on Queenslands’ Darling Downs and before our bums have been warmed by the heated seats we’ve hit the outskirts of Toowoomba and boy it is larger than we had expected. With excitement we ditch the van and head back into the CBD! Oh Lordy it’s a coffee town! Treed streets, four grand churches, fabulous architecture and more coffee shops than we can count on our fingers and toes.

Walking about gaping of course we look like tourists. A young woman stops me on the street and tells me what sights must not be missed. And there I am thinking that she is trying to rob me! Well she should be employed by the local council as we had no idea of the ‘situation’ of this beautiful city. We follow her advice and set off for Picnic Point, driving past neat homes with manicured…
